Finding the Perfect Fit When Looking For A Massage TherapistPersonal referrals are the best way to find a massage therapist in your area. Ask your friends, family, hair stylist, chiropractor - anyone you know and trust. If you are still unable to locate a practitioner, consider contacting a local massage school for referrals - some even offer reduced rates on work done by senior students who are supervised. The other option is to check with a national massage organization. When calling to schedule an appointment, ask any questions you might have: cost, duration, location, appointment times available, experience and/or education, what modalities the practitioner uses (many use several complimentary techniques), licensure, etc. You might also request a "getting to know you" session, in which you would spend a smaller amount of time to get a feel for the therapist's overall energy and style. |
